How we rate online casinos
Last checked:
Every casino we publish goes through the same four-part inspection. We record what we checked, where the evidence came from and the date we checked it — so you can repeat the check yourself.
1. Licence and legal position
We start with the paperwork. For every operator we look for a licence number, the regulator that issued it and whether that licence is actually visible on the operator's own site. For Canada we also check the register of iGaming Ontario: an operator that is registered there may legally serve players in Ontario, and one that is not may not — regardless of what it says on its home page. Where an operator holds only an offshore licence, we say so plainly instead of dressing it up as "international regulation".
2. Payouts, limits and banking
A bonus is worth nothing if the withdrawal is not. We list the deposit and withdrawal methods an operator actually supports for Canadian accounts — Interac, iDebit, InstaDebit, Visa, cards, e-wallets, bank transfer, crypto where offered — together with the published minimum and maximum, any per-week or per-month cap, and the operator's own stated processing time. Where the operator publishes no limit at all, we write "not published" rather than inventing a number.
3. Bonus terms, read line by line
We read the terms, not the banner. For each offer we record the wagering multiple and what it applies to (bonus only, or deposit plus bonus), the maximum bet allowed while wagering, the expiry window, the games that are excluded or count at a reduced rate, and any cap on what a bonus can win. An offer with a low headline and honest terms beats a large headline with a 60× wagering requirement, and we say which is which.
4. Support and complaints
We check whether live chat exists, the hours it is open in Canadian time zones, whether email support is answered, and which independent body handles complaints if the operator does not resolve them. An operator with no route to an ADR is treated as higher risk in our notes.
What we do not do
- We do not sell placement. Position in our lists follows what we verified, not what an operator pays.
- We do not publish a bonus figure we could not confirm at the operator or on a trusted register.
- We do not present an offshore licence as Canadian regulation.
- We do not keep a page live once its facts have gone stale — it is re-checked or it is removed.
How we earn money
Some links to operators are affiliate links: if you open an account through them, the operator may pay us a commission. That commission does not change the ranking, the wagering figure or the licence we print, and it costs you nothing. When an operator has no partnership with us we still cover it, and we still link to it.
Corrections
Terms change quietly and often. If you find a figure on this site that no longer matches the operator's own page, tell us through the contact form and we will re-check it and republish the page with a new verification date.
